Computer Lab

Welcome to Media!

Welcome back to school. I am looking forward to an exciting new school year. Students have new laptops in the lab. We have a new cushions for storytime for the early childhood students. Our projects will continue to incorporate S.T.E.A.M. activities. Grades 4-8 will be using Google Classroom. I look forward to seeing all of you again.


 

HOMEWORK:

Grade 7
Watch the Robot Race video. Take notes in the table in Google Classroom. What technologies are used in the cars? Notes on how each technology works. Notes on how the technology is used so that the car can "read the road". 

Grades 4-8:
‚ÄčLast call to bring in ear buds in a small ziplock bag labelled with students name and class. Headphones will not be accepted.

Grade 3:
Bring in a picture of the animal you researched.

Grade 8:In Google Classroom Read the Fossil Fuel reading in the Google Classroom assignment. Be prepared to complete a worksheet and participate in class discussion.

You will receive the Student Technology Behavior Policy on the first day of school. Please return signed by Friday, September 7. If you have misplaced it click this link for a copy of the form.

Want to work on a project? Have a study group? Need some help with research for a project? 

Grade 4,5 may come to the Media Center 11:15-11:35 Monday, Tuesday and Friday
Grade 6,7,8 may come to the Media Center 12:20-12:40 Monday, Thursday and Friday
Students MUST sign up on the day when arriving at school on the clipboard outside the Media Center

If you need information on signing up for the Parent Portal, please see Mrs. Weippert at Open House. You will receive directions for creating your account and the codes needed to sync your student's records to your account. Parents can access the portal for grades 3 and up. Grade 3 parents will receive their Parent Portal packet from their child's teacher.

7 & 8 Student Media Crew
Students are needed to assist with morning computer set up and shelving books. These hours count toward Confirmation, Scout badges and NJHS service hours. If you are interested see Mrs. Weippert in the  Media Center.

Parent Library Volunteers Wanted!

Volunteers are needed to assist in the library. Volunteers check books in and out, shelve books and help to process new books.
If you have an hour or two a week, please consider volunteering.
